Pimple In Ear

Rosacea is a skin disorder that can cause psychological, social and emotional issues if not recognized and treated accordingly. It commonly affects women between the ages of 30-50 years although it can also affect men in the same age group.

Its characteristics are visible redness on the skin around the chest, chin, forehead, nose, cheeks, ears and scalp. Other symptoms may include pimples, rounded nose, burning, stinging and watery eyes.

Break outs can occur with extreme environmental conditions or changes, certain foods or beverages such as alcohol or caffeine and exercise.

An assessment by a dermatologist is important to determine the proper diagnosis of rosacea. At that point prevention and treatment recommendations can be made.

Prevention is of course, the most obvious choice for treatment as harsh antibiotics can only provide temporary relief of symptoms and can have serious side effects. The following techniques are recommended to prevent break outs:

o Avoid excessive sun exposureo Avoid prolonged exposure to cold environments o Avoid extreme temperature changes especially from cold to hoto Avoid skin care products and topical creams that irritate skino Avoid high histamine foods, alcohol and caffeineo Avoid spicy foodso Decrease stressful situations as much as possibleo Learn calming techniques to ease anxiety (i.e. deep breathing)

Other healthy alternatives to treat symptoms of rosacea are sulfur treatments, commonly used to treat acne or low intensity laser therapy. These treatments decrease redness and smooth out bumps. These treatments can be quite costly as frequent treatment and prescriptions are necessary.

In Eastern traditions, rosacea is frequently treated with the use of white clay. When used, it cools the skin which closes blood vessels to reduce redness and smooth out bumps. Unfortunately is not readily available to the Western consumer.

In North America, white clay is commonly used in high end spas and facial rejuvenation treatments. It is usually applied to the skin as a mask during facials and can be quite expensive if needed on a regular basis.

For the use of white clay in the home, it is recommended to apply white clay in compress form. A compress is a quick and easy way to apply white clay to the body with out the mess of a mask. Traditional white clay compresses usually contains traditional Thai herbs that further assist in symptom relief. It can be purchased in ready-to-use herbal pouch and may be used multiple times. The white clay compress is a low cost alternative for rosacea sufferers around the globe.
